When I moved to Shelton 40 plus years the creek was a fine steelhead stream and also had so many chum in it at the same time it was hard to fish in the early part of the season because they where so thick. It is too bad that the pretty little canyon was removed that was just below the dam, lots of holes with rock walls. Also Mill creek and Kenndy also supported good runs of steelhead there was many of times I would stop at kenndy creek and catch a steelhead after coming back from the Cowlitz. It would great if these creeks could go back to being full of both chum and steelhead even if they have to have some fish plants too get them started agin. They all have good spawning gravel located on timber company ground and they clear very fast. The upper Goldsbourgh in places looks almost like a spring creek, just clear water with stream moss waveing back and forth. I beleive Goldsbough also had Kings in it, sure wouldn't hurt to more fishing water.

it's sort of funny, i was thumbing through some of my old STS magazines a few years back, and there was an article about small stream steelheading from (i think) 2001, that described goldsborough creek to a "T". as an example, it referred to "an oakland bay tributary that runs right through the middle of a town " having a return of around 400 early winter hatchery steelhead.

i was itching to go out there and do some exploring, to combat boredom at least, until i noticed in the regs that it was no longer open past october(this was in 2006)
