Anybody following the story coming out of Texas Tech? Are you siding with Leach or James? I normally follow or care much about this but there seems to be some odd things coming out of this controversy.

It is official; Leach has been fired by Texas Tech. I wouldn't be surprised if Leach turns around and sues TT. Either there is more to the story or there may be a case for wrongful termination.

Pretty fast investigation of the allegations against him. Likely fired with cause. He'll sue and some sort of settlement will be worked out.
There was some bad blood between him and the AD. When he was in Seattle talking to the UW, the AD didn't know about it until after the fact. They also had some contentious negotiations during his last contract.
The guy is an odd dude, but has shown he can coach. Unlike Mangino, he'll likely get another shot to coach again.

One report is the kids dad is a "helicopter dad" who hoovers around the program constantly and that the kid blamed his coaches for not coaching him well enough for his lack of talent and playing time.
Also, Leach was due an $800,000 bonus if he was the head coach as of tomorrow! Guess he isn't getting that now!

As big of a duschbag as Leach is if he ends up in Pullman, the Cougs will be scoring a lot of points and winning games in a hurry.
Bobby Knight is a dick too and he's one of the winningest coaches in history proving that locking a kid in closets or throwing chairs doesn't always mean you're losing games.

I don't know much about the man but with his record at TT, I was excited when he came and looked at UW last year. I liked what I saw from Sark this year (different topic) but from what I can tell, I don't see how they could fire Leach for putting a player in the equipment room during practice. They must have more dirt on the guy.

Seems like they have been waiting for any reasonable excuse to can him. He'll likely pull the Neuheisel...get a cooridinator gig for a while and then come back as a head coach after things settle down.
