Thanks, Rivrguy,
Along your line, there is a saying, "Good manners are always welcome." That doesn't mean that it is not necessary to raise your voice at times. But mostly that speaking clearly and actively listening is a good thing when people care about the same goals. As you point out, when everybody's talking loud all at once it is hard to hear anybody. Especially when your hearing has been blasted by The Who, Led Zep, and Sonic Youth. Not that I would ever admit that.
Thanks, Dan S. for your comments,
I think Rivrguy is conscientiously trying to herd the rest of us cats. Gotta give him credit for trying. It's painful, though. Cats are not herd animals, although they learn.
OK, back to the OT (original thread):
I think that every generation bemoans how the previous one has gone to hell in a handcart. I want my great, great, grandkids to have some really "Good Old Days" 50 years from now. "Hey, remember how grandpa rick complained about the steelie run on the Sky? What was he thinking, this is great." My dream. Not terribly realistic, but I can dream.
Sorry to sound preachy, when I get home from work I try to be real in a short time frame and small space.
Thanks.
10-10 on the side,
