Avid Angler,

Your avatar rocks! I like it because it appears to be an authentic "oops!" from some show in the 70's. Whose the gal?

Nicely proportioned!

If you want it saved, just hang it on your wall......... If it were me, I'd go out and get a killer bite and set the hook as hard as I could. I like new rods.... Know what I mean...

Or you could pick another rod out of your assortment of over 500 rods.

I have no idea who the girl is but you're right. It seems to be less contrived ,and this could be the beginning of a classic hijacking right here

Dave:
Bring it to me and I will do a hot bond repair on it for you.
It requires raw prepreg, film adhesive and an autoclave, but it can be brought back to OEM strength.

And yes, before anyone says anything, the rod would have the handle and guides removed first. But it can be repaired.

I would try epoxy and then wrap over it like you would one of the guides and then more epoxy. I saw a rod that someone had done this too at the sportsman show in pasco last week. He said it works and also thought the rod was still worth 175 bucks. If this does void the warranty I would be hesitant to tray and fix it.
