Looking for an anchor nest suitable for a new Stryker and a 40# anchor for the big river.
Thanks!

Ryley may be the best boat whore ever. He is looking for this rig for my boat. BTW it's an 18 foot Stryker. You go Ryley!

Dave, planning on going after Springers huh? You should pick up one of the lighter weight anchors like I have. They have them @ 3R. Used it last year and it works great. I think the anchor itself was only $60. It is not the traditional "Columbia River" style, not sure how it would mount up though, mine just sits in the bow on a piece of carpet.

Did you use it in the Big C.? If so, how did it work? I think Rtyley has all the bouys and quick disconnect stuff.

Check out LeeLock.
Google them and see what they have. They were at the sportsman show. I'm thinking of picking one up for my boat. I have the can dump and anchor now. 1 bolt and I change it over to the CR system. I also like their hook for dropping the rope when you need to chase a fish.

Here's the EZ Marine anchor puller.....probably the best made. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40nz7HVwcOwEdit: For those that haven't done this....swing wide when pulling anchor with power. Getting the anchor rope hung up on your lower unit is fatal. 5:1 scope is bare minimum....ie. 20' depth : 100' anchor line. You can get by with 5:1 in sheltered waters with no big boat wakes. 7:1 is much better, 10:1 is bulletproof with the correct anchor system. 350' of 7/16" solid braid will fill a 5 gal bucket to the top.

EZ Marine is what I use couple with a Big Water anchor nest. I think Miller Marine makes a nice one too.

Dave, yes it was in the Columbia down by Cathlamet, it held great in a pretty good current with 4 of us in the boat and another boat tied alongside us for a few minutes. Pulled very easily as well.
Coho, no the carpet was purple and covered with seal [censored] . . KMA ! !
