I am beginning to get ready for my honeymoon in Riviera Maya. I have never taken fishing gear with me when I have flown. I have looked into travel rods and tubes to pack my regular rods. Anyone have any suggestions on rod tubes? I have decided it would probably be cheaper to buy a rod tube than to buy multiple travel rods. Also, does anyone have any experience fishing in this area? Are there any shore/kayak fishing opportunities? Any websites I should check out? Gear recommendations? I plan on going charter fishing at least once, anyone know of any good outfits to book with? We will be staying on Maroma Beach. Thanks for any info you can pass along!

Kikinit-
I was down there a couple years ago and the only fishing I heard of out in the bay near cancun on the flats for bonefish, and down south of Cancun by Tulum, another good bonefish zone.

I found a good forum where I spoke to alot of ex-pats and locals before I went down that were very helpful, I'd suggest asking your questions here:

If you are looking for a really nice hammock while down there, make sure you check out La Casa de Hamacas in Playa Del Carmen. They have absolutely killer handmade Mayan Hammocks.
