For me its not the casting ability of baitcasters but control you have when fishing a float and the control you have when fighting a big fish.

If the man absolutely positively wants to fish a spin rod, I gotta back NCD on this. Thats a perfect low/clear h2o rig. Also like the Lamiglas 96 LS & the Rainshadow 1142s w/ that same reel.

As for a rod I'm very happy with my G.L. Steelhead Series rod. It's a 9.8" 6-12lb. medium lite power, fast action in spinning. I will be getting a casting outfit though ASAP. So, Buy em both.
