I'd say they hold up as good as any oar until you get it stuck between a moving boat and a rock... Catch any fish lately Joe? Nice sig too, yeah I'm not reading into that at ...all.

Well, I busted one last weekend...though the failure was not in the oar, it was in the oarlock on my boat...should have popped out when it got pinned between a rock and the boat in heavy water, but the oarlock is too tight for that shaft, evidently...though it was pretty fun pretending I was Huck Finn rowing a raft with one paddle standing up in the middle of the boat to get it out of the white water on the Sol Duc! Only permanent damage, I think, besides the oar shaft was to SkyGuy's delicate psyche...the only thing worse than being down an oar in heavy whitewater and rowing with one paddle canoe style is being in front seat and having nothing to do but watch and hope! Fish on... Todd P.S. Made it to shore just fine, and had a spare shaft in the boat (and spare blades, of course), so we only were out of the game for about five minutes, none the worse for wear

Ryley, I wouldn't expect that you'd read into my signature line, since most folks that talk alot don't usually read... at all. Speaking of folks... Black Dynamite said it best, "You need to shut the fukk up when grown folks is talkin' ". Have a nice evening.

I used mine hard for two years...no questionable breaks, mine broke in a very serious way, and should have come out of the oarlocks, but the oarlocks were made for smaller diameter 'raft oars', not for real driftboat oars...I knew it might be a problem, but since I didn't expect to stick an oar the way I did, I let it slide...shouldn't have Fish on... Todd

has anyone ever heard of a cataract shaft breaking? I'd guess they outnumber lami's by about 10,000 percent and now I've heard of two lami's breaking. I'd stick with the cataracts and not worry about matching colors myself. Sounds like good advice to me...
