Dude may have taught me more about being an organized and effective fisherman than anyone I've ever met.... He was a great guy and I feel honored to have spent the time I did with him. He lived life hard. Like Stam said, I hope he finally finds what he was looking for.
The fish weighed #30, not #27. Believe me, I remember the truck breaks locking up when he realized he had shorted himself an inch on the tape..... smile What a guy. He will be missed.

Man, I'm kind of in shock. Only met Tim once, but we sent messages via this forum. And like others, I felt like I knew him even more because he never held back when posting here. Tim was still young. Life is uncertain, and obviously short. I'll miss him. Hope his kids are all right.

Spent an evening with Sol out in Forks three years back. As an impressionable kid, I kept my mouth sealed and just listened to some great stories. Watched his videos from the Babine the other day and made me realize all over again why I love to fish.
Rest in Peace Tim

I haven't been around here long enough to know much about Sol, but enough of you guys called him your friend to make me think he would have been a great guy. Clearly, he was a great sportsman. My condolences to his family and to those of you here who are mourning his loss.

RIP, Tim.

RIP Tim

The first day I met Tim was on the bogey, he was casting driftgear for salmon (legitly, not flossing), I thought that was pretty cool because it's becoming a lost art. I always enjoyed running into Tim on the rivers or different fishing events and get togethers (like the one Brad stated above). He was a well traveled fisherman and with that comes many good stories. RIP Tim.

Kicked in the gut is right, DanS.

Tim was one of the smartest people I have ever met, and I learned so much about everything from him and those of you he associated with on this board. He also was a great employee for many years, and I'm sure this economy didn't help his mental outlook after we had to let him go.....sucks.

Damn. There's no replacing that guy and his drive. Nothing less than perfection in every pursuit he undertook. We always joked about him knowing where every rock was in the Sol Duc.

Very sad. RIP SOL. Every time I log on here I look to see if the 7710 has changed. Prayers go out to Sol, his family, and close friends. Only met him once and was 100% blown away at how nice he was.

Indeed, sad news to sour the last steelhead trip of the year for me. Maybe he was the one sticking all those nice new ones on the lines for us ... but his famous line was 'It's not always about the numbers" smile

Probably caused me the most grief as a board owner than anyone else in the history of the PP forums, but was always happy to see him pull up at our place to shoot the bull for a bit.

Exploding pumpkins in the middle of Tall Timbers will now only be a legend of years past.

Our thoughts are with his little girls and we hope you find a perfect run in a better place Tim.

Unbelievably sad news. I'm so sorry for everyone that was close to him. I always enjoyed the personality he brought to the board. He seemed a little abrasive at times on the board but I found him friendly the times we did pass each other riverside. We will all miss you Tim.
