Here's wishing one and all a Happy Fourth. May our families be healthy, may there be food on the hearth and lines in the water. May the people of our country thrive.
These are tough times, but Americans come from good stock and it is once again time to hold strong.

Tomorrow, I'm going fishing on a secret river from a secret rock that only 5,000 other people know about so I am sure it will be quiet.

Then, back home and The Doctor is in the house making baby back ribs, salad, swiss chard, and black eyed peas with okra. Guess I am showing my Southern roots.

Certain species of birds can hear things from miles and miles away. I heard once that there's one species of bird who can here the ocean waves crash on both coasts at the same time. Noise pollution has driven many of our nations bird populations with such skills to extinction. Poor birds.

Wow, that bird must have been dead center of whatever land mass it lives on, since sound travels at a specific speed. And that's without any interferance from wind and terrain.
