Well here we go the reason I stopped Steelhead fishing 12 years ago. They just closed the North Fork of the Nooksack to Steelhead fishing. Although the return is not critical at this point, it's a precautionary measure. If they receive enough spawners before the end of February they will re-open it. Now I don't blame them, but I work between 6-7 days a week. This is the closest Steelhead fishery to me, I can drop in and fish for 2-3 hours before I go to work. I guess what gets me is the fact I had that little voice in the back of my head telling me not to stock up on Steelhead gear. Why don't I ever listen to that voice?

I see another person did not read the closed areas very close. The Nooksack is only closed from Racehorse creek to Kendall creek. About a 1/2 to a 1/4 mile in legnth,just around the hatchery. Not the whole river.
