Have to drive a family member out to the UW Medical Center for some cancer testing/consult on Monday. Will be heading west on I-90. Whats the best route to get to said Medical Center once we hit Seattle?

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

If I was making that drive, I'd jump from 90W to 405 north, and then jump on 520 westbound. Take the Montlake exit off 520, and you're just a couple blocks away from UW Med Ctr.
Be advised that I haven't slogged through Seattle in a while.

I'll add to Dan's directions. Once you exit on Montlake, take the first left once you cross the Montlake cut bridge. The medical center will be on your left.
If you do decide to take I-90 west, head north once you hit 1-5. Take the 45th st exit. Head east on 45th to 15th NE. Take a right on 15th NE and head south until you hit NE Pacific St. Take a left on NE Pacific St. The medical center will be on your right in a block or so. Good luck to your family member.

If your appointment is in the morning, I'd allow PLENTY of time to get there. I-90, 405 and the 520 floating bridges can be traffic NIGHTMARES!

adding to this i think this would be the easy way to go and once you take the left go to the second stop light and take another left, i think thats 15th, then at the bottom of the hill take another left and you can pay to park back there.

Driving to Ellensburg on Sunday afternoon. Will go rest of the way into UW on Monday morning. Appt is at 1pm If your appointment is in the morning, I'd allow PLENTY of time to get there. I-90, 405 and the 520 floating bridges can be traffic NIGHTMARES!

Thanks for the good directions guys, went easy gettin into med cntr. Have one new question now. I have to head back tomorrow (thur) to Med Cntr and have my mother there on Fri for surgery. Will be staying in area for about 5 days. The only place half ways close to UW that I could get a 5 day reservation was at the Hotel Nexus. They contract with the UWMC for rates ($85/night). Is this an ok place to stay for a few days? I was hoping to get closer to UWMC but the closer ones were full over weekend. Just checkin to see if I need to keep looking for lodging today or just take what I have so far??
Thanks for the help..RJ

85 bones a night isn't bad for that area. I'm not familiar with the Hotel Nexus, but if they contract with UWMC, it's probably a decent enough place.
Good luck with the whole deal. I hope everything comes out OK for you and mom.

$85.00 is a pretty good rate. There is a Travel Lodge just north of the UW on 25th Ave NE. http://www.travelodgeseattleuniversity.com/ This would put you closer to the UWMC. Might be worth a call to see if they can beat or match the Nexus rate. It isn't fancy, but we stayed there years ago when my grandmother was undergoing treatment at UWMC. Good luck to your mom.
