Termites are flying. Saw a few searuns going after them this evening in the salt. Time to get some skating patterns out.

Wow... I always wondered if the trout would eat those termites. Guess that answers my question. Sounds like a lot of fun. If I can find some time, I'll give it a go. Thanks for the tip!

Growing up on Johnson Point I got to see some really cool things. One of the best was the summer that their was a tent caterpillar infestation. When they hatched into moths, it was absolutely lights out fishing for about two weeks as the SRC's and resident coho gorged themselves. Literally every fish in the inlet was working the moths, and was catchable. It was awesome and remains a great memory. The only thing better was when they were working juvenile herring right on the beach.

Fished until dark this evening. Saw lots of bait fish near the beach. Was hoping to see some coho come in and work it.

Did find a couple willing cutties take a fly.
