http://www.komonews.com/news/local/130069728.html"According to a new report, the Mariners have the dubious distinction of being one of the worst in attendance among major league sports teams. The team has lost more than 40 percent of their fans in attendance since 2001, according to Yahoo! Sports." Wow. That coincides with becoming one of the worst performing sports franchises among major league sports teams and rising ticket prices. Gee! Go figure!

Did you know that if you had 10 people in each section and 4 of them left, you'd only have 6 people in each section. That would be a 40% reduction in attendance.
NO [censored]! That's exactly what I heard today on some news station by some reporter.............. No phukng sheet!

...games ...attendance ...fan base ...money ...hope

If the M's cannot put a quality team on the field, why would people show, for the FAN experience?
Here are my biggest complaints about the Mariners: 1) Howard's reasoning to keep beer prices high....to keep out the boorish element. (elitist snobbery)
2) Not letting fans express themselves with signs like Yankees Suck or similar styled shirts.
3) 'Rebuilding' the team for 10 effing years
4) Not bringing the fence in a little bit
5) Dave Sims calling games

4) Not bringing the fence in a little bit
This is a huge reason big hitters don't wanna play here. The wet air and the fence being a mile away makes this the worst hitters park in baseball. It's a huge reason A-Rod left and love him or hate him, he would have added a lot of wins and fans. JD

JD,
I don't think either of us knows why A-Rod left. But I'd wager that the fences and heavy air had a vanishingly small influence when compared to the ridiculous guaranteed $$$ he was offered to go to Texas.

JD,

But I'd wager that the fences and heavy air had a vanishingly small influence when compared to the ridiculous guaranteed $$$ he was offered to go to Texas. You're right about the money, but I remember reading a report that said his agent had talked with Mariner owners about moving the fence in and they said no chance. It was apparently said that his pursuit of the all time HR title was going to be more important and he wasn't going to stay in Seattle even if they offered him the same money. Either way.... Mariners now suck JD
