The SolFly Silent Auction is on RIGHT NOW! You have until 8:00 am 11/14/11 to place your bids!

Recently, the last SolFly Tournament was held to not only memorialize Sol, but to raise some college monies for his two surviving young daughters. Many sponsors contributed some great items to be awarded to the SolFly tournament members at the conclusion of the event. The event went great, but at the end of the evening, we were all pummeled by a nice rain storm that probably closed down the event sooner rather than later. At the time, it was decided that rather than just give away these great items at the event, that I should do a silent auction here. All of the proceeds (minus direct costs) will go to the girls. That's exactly what I'm going to do.

The rules are simple:

I will list ALL the items from the SolFly Tournament here. Each item will have a NUMBER associated with it. Starting at 8:00 am on 11/7/2001, I will start accepting PM and email (elparquito@gmail.com) bids on all items. I have decided to update the minimum bid amount as bids come in!

Email your bids to: elparquito@gmail.com

or

Send me a PM here on this board!

Bidding will stop and will no longer be accepted past 8:00 am on 11/14/2011.

Most items will start with a minimum bid of 50% of it's retail price + SHIPPING/MAILING COSTS ONLY.

Winning bidders will be notified via email and will be asked if they'd like their names associated on the board with their item. Winning bidders will have 48 hours to pay for their item(s). Once payment is received by me, the items will be mailed, picked up, arranged, etc. If payment is not received by me, I will email the next highest bidder. This will continue until all items are paid for, etc.

I will ONLY be accepting PAYPAL or direct cash if you want to pick the item up from me. Checks, cashier checks, and money orders are to easy to fake and take a lot of time to process. PAYPAL is free and/or so is picking up your item directly from me with cash in hand.

(this email and the rules will probably get modified/changed as people with more experience in this point out the obvious flaws in my plan, etc.)

All sales are FINAL with no returns or refunds. If pictured, what you see is what there is.

List of Items to be Auctioned Off:

1) Hand-Made Arrows by Tim Wallis.
Donated by: The Wallis Family
Min Bid: $70 (These hand-made arrows by Tim are effectively PRICELESS)
Poundage: 60 lbs.
Length: 29 1/4"
Type: Traditional (fin)
Features: These arrows have a 16" taper. They are 11/32 at the field tip and 5/16 at the knock end. This makes the arrow recover faster off the traditional bows, penetrate deeper, and leave a better blood trail if they stay in the animal. They fly like darts! Any questions? Contact Charlie Guinn at (phone number given out upon request to me, or if Charlie OK's it to me directly).

5) 3 Folbe Advantage Rod Holders
Achewter just bumped this up to 5 Folbe Rod Holders along with some extensions! That's right, 5! That's crazy talk. Not only that, but he said he'd "supply another set" to the 2nd and 3rd place bidders if they donate their losing bid to the auction!
Donated by: Achetwer
Min Bid: $135

6) GLoomis STR 1104C-2, 9' 2" Casting Rod with a Curado 200 E7

9) Glacier Bear Lodge Vacation Package: 4 days and 3 nights lodging, 3 full meals a day and one day ocean charter on FV Aerofish.

10) Rainshadow IST 1144F Spinning Rod
Donated by: Batson Enterprises
Min Bid $200
This rod was admired by all at the SolFly event. Great looking spinning rod that is PERFECT for big fish! Want the absolute PERFECT spinning rod for king salmon on the Humptulips? This rod is for you. Serious backbone on this puppy. The quality of the craftsmanship on this rod is second to none.

11) Rainshadow IST 1264F Casting Rod
Donated by: Batson Enterprises
Min Bid $250
If you ever wanted or needed that float fishing rod for kings, this bad boy is for you! Again, we all oooh'd and aaaah'd over this rod at the SolFly Tournament. Hell, I should have just taken it! wink Another rod any serious angler should have in their arsenal. I used a Rainshadow 1264 to take the top fish - you can too with just a minimum bid of $160. Don't let this one slip past you!

12) Action Guide Service - Full Day Guided Trip
Donated by: Jim "Hairball" Harrington
Min Bid $180
Action Guide Service
As one who has taken a guide trip or two, I will personally say that I am kinda/sorta specific on who I'll go on a trip with. Jim "Hairball" Harrington is one of those guys! He'll not only make you laugh all day long, but he'll put you on to fish. He knows his stuff and has been guiding a long time now. One of the "good guys" in the guiding world and again, you really won't be disappointed in this trip. $150 is a STEAL for a full-day's guided trip with Hairball. Bid early, bid often, and bid aggressive for this one!

13) Reddington Sonic-Pro Waders - your choice of size!
Donated by: The Avid Angler Fly Shop
Min Bid $180
http://www.redington.com/S-S-pr-1839.html
Who needs SIMM's when there's Reddington. Proving to be a great set of waders at a reasonable price. I'm practically giving these things away at that minimum bid! You'd be a fool NOT to place a bid on them! Do it!

14) 1 dozen trolling spinners (pre made) and 1 dozen custom casting spinners to your specifications.
Donated by: big moby
Min Bid $110
These spinners are SLICK and are gonna put the serious hurt to some B-10 or Harbor fish next year! Wowzee! Also pictured (at the bottom) is a sample of what your custom casting spinners will look like!

15) 50 hand-tied custom yarnies.
Donated by: ColeyG
Min Bid $120
He's a cop! Maybe not, but he's go NOTHING else to do up in the cold and darkness that is Alaska and the guy ties up a MEAN yarnie! He's offering up 50 of his finest for our action and you get to pick/chose what color combinations you want! Coley is SO super excited at how much attention his yarnies are generating, that I've heard he might even throw in a few "extras" just because you all are so cool! Keep the bids on this one! Let's give Coley something to do this winter and make some money for Tim's kids!

(Pictures are for REFERENCE ONLY!)

16) Silver-Horde MASSIVE Grab Bag Bonanaza!
Donated by: Silver Hoder
Min Bid $210

You get what you see - the XL hoodie, flasher bag, and big pile of Silver Horde goodies! Too much to list here!!!! Just look at the photos! You gotta be freakin' kidding me? Steal. Deal. Bid!

17) 89 Beau-Mac and AeroJig Pile of Jigs!!!
Donated by: Tony Dunnington
Min Bid $160

These jigs were hand-picked by Tony just for this auction! These are some fish-catching jigs! Again, you get what you see in the photos! More jigs than you can shake a stick at! No really, I mean a whole mess of jigs! Well, 89 of them, to be exact! This includes.....

Gross, the auction raised a grand total of $3,202 for the girls!

Hopefully, I'll get all the monies collected in the next 12 hours (hint hint, cough cough) wink

Thanks again to Joe for his time and efforts, Bob for allowing us to use this site, to all the vendors/contributors, and to those who bid on the items!

Agreed! let me know who got the casting spinners and I can custom paint the blades for them. Also, if any other fundraising/auction is to happen in the future I would be happy to paint some blades for it.
