I got to try the new Kast gloves yesterday. I am pretty dang impressed. They are 100 waterproof. Great for before and after fishing and for keeping the hands warm while shooting a few photos. I am too ham-fisted to be able to cast a bait caster while wearing them but they sure are nice for everything else.

Got a pair last Friday, so I'll give them a try this weekend.

Yeah those gloves are amazing. It's the wierdest thing to stick your hand in a freezing river and to have your hands remain warm and dry. The expected cold shock when you tail a fish just doesn't happen. Freaking awesome gloves. Holds a fish well too. Everyone would be happy and impressed with em except Abu, who only needs em to grab ice cold drinks outta the freezer. Oh, and most importantly to get a firmer hold on his chics butt. Personally, I would only use em as intended, on Chrome rockets in ice cold rivers.

Are these Kast gloves good to wear for rowing a D.B.?
Do they have good grip holding onto oars while rowing rapids hard?
Sounds like very impressive fishin gloves.

Have a pair myself and Charlie that is exactly what I wanted them for. The warm hands tailing fish is a bonus to me(and they DO work for that). They have great grip and are a pleasure to row the drifter in. Keep your hands warm and dry even on the rainiest fall coastal days. You will not be disappointed with these in any way!

Eyewitness account....

The grip is pretty impressive.

So good Robbo was able to snatch an ultra-slimy chum right outta the current with his Kast-gloved hand!

$80 fishing gloves?

Wow. They sound like something I would never buy myself. I'll talk to Santa.

Do they make an option with fold-over fingertips?

I just got these, which are pretty great for keeping the hands warm while still allowing knot-tying, etc.

Not waterproof, though.

Look into a decent pair of mountaineering/climbing gloves. I don't think there are many pairs for under $150, most are quite a bit more.

$80 seems reasonable considering the design and manufacturing efforts required for a technically oriented waterproof glove.

Just so everyone is clear, these gloves are NOT for drift fishing and might be a little awkward with the spinning set up too. But , for putting your hand in an ice cold river, tailing a fish or rowing on a frigid/rain soaked day they are the Bomb! The perfect tool for rowing between holes, pulling plugs, or tailing that chrome rocket.

CM

Chromebrite will have to chime back in with retail locations, but right now I think they are only available through the KASTGEAR.COM web site.

Personally, the dexterity and comfort characteristics of this glove far exceed any other glove I have ever had or used. People have different styles of fishing and therefore, the gloves are uniquely different for each angler and their techniques. Try them out and see how they work for you and put them through the test.
