Simms too heavy, but at that weight and bulk they should be bomb proof.

Cabella's good value, but kinda' narrow in the toes for me.

Patagonia Riverwalkers are the lightest, most comfortable, wading boot I've ever worn, and they still provide good support. Some problems with delamination, but they'll replace any that do.

Give these a try, especially if you are planning a trip to Alaska next year as you can't take your felt ones.

I have been super quiet about this but Redington Wayfarer II, are definitely not the way to go. Mine blew out in 5 trips, waders are much worse.

And if the local urchins see you wearing any RVR apparel, your rig's safety is guaranteed.

Chota STL'S for me. Had the same pair for over a year and they have seen 50+ days and are still going strong.

Still have the Fish america Pro Gear felt sole boots I bought 10+ years ago and still going strong. wore out my waders before the boots. Super light weight and very durable. Might wear them out in another 5 years.

Like all good things I doubt I will find a more durable pair for the $35 I think I paid for these.

Check out the new Simms BOA boot. Lightweight, easy to walk around in and ratchet lacing. I really liked mine this season and time will only tell how long they last but they are sweet! thumbs

Since I'm looking for some new boots as well, I thought I'd bring this back to the top.

Folks had mentioned they felt some of the Simms boots were to heavy.
I got this email from Simms today regarding the two model of boots I'm considering.
The Stremtread soles really add some weight, nearly one lb to the Headwater boots. I've got size 14 dogs and knee issues, so the heavy Guide boot option is out for me.

The Headwater Boot in felt is our lightest boot, weighing approximately 35oz (1 pair in a size 10).
The Headwaters Boot with the Streamtread sole weighs approximately 49.6oz (also for 1 pair in a size 10).

The Guide Boot in felt weighs in at approximately 56oz (1 pair, size 10).
The Guide Boot with the Stremtread sole weighs approximately 65.8oz (1 pair, size 10).

95% of my fishing is from the bank. My mosts recent setup is a pair of 89 dollar redington waders and some chota boots. The higher end ones. I LOVE them, and the redingtons are the best wader I have ever owned 3 years and 1 pinhole leak and I brush bash a lot,but I could just be lucky. The boots are lightweight durable and fit well, for me. I wear size 14s,and with my merino wool socks and underliner socks they are killer
