I know you guys will be able to help with this one. Where do I go to find specific lake laws? In particular, I am trying to find out what lakes are electric motor only before I take my bass boat out to specific lakes and then find out I can't put it in. Thanks in advance, Mike

pick up a free copy of the fishing regulations at any sports store that sells fishing stuff. you should probably have one because the rules are always changing.

I use the online downloadable publication just for that reason, updates always coming forth and ammendments are listed. Didn't see anything in there, doesn't mean that they arent there though. Hmmmmm, guess I better double check that.

Sometimes the fishing regs are different than the regs issued by a municipality for a specific lake. A huge pet-peeve of mine! You will have to check and double check. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a database with all the different regulations set by municipalities for different lakes. Hey, maybe a new website idea! It may be easier just to ask the question about a lake here on this forum. Chances are someone has been to that lake and will be able to tell you the local laws for that lake.

the feds, state & county governments each have their own rules for bodies of water.since you are concerned about gas/electric motors, you will want to go to the specific county website and search for lakes or boating regulations.you can also use law enforcement websites because if a lake is no motors or electic only there will be a municipal code for that ordinance.hope this helps. Mike.
