Here is an Ebay auction where pink Okies went for $15 a piece.

I have 312 of the hard plastic oakies of various colors. Not any foam ones. I noticed that most of the desired ones read "oakie" on them (as said on ebay). Mine don't read okie on them. Are these still desired or a knock off??? Regardless, I know that they are still really old because they belonged to my grandpapa who passed away long ago. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

RB, they are all colors. quite a bit of each.... my brother just sent me some photos of his, but they are crappy photos, but he has 42, some of which are the pink pearls, and didnt even know about the stuff going on....

if they say "oakie" on them, they are fake, because the name is Okie, so pay attention to what you have...

Correction: meant "okie", not "oakie" or "oakley".. After digging through one at a time, and hurting my eyes, I found quite a few with "okie" stamped on the top. Still would like to know about the other ones though which are hard plastic as well. Have many colors including the translucent colors, pink, orange, clown, pearl pink, and the nail polish color...

Big steelhead will take a pink worm just fine. Also try a size 8 corkie with a big glob of eggs. Want a big fish...? Give them a meal. wink

It is not unusual to get hooked on fishing whatever you stick a pig with. Don't do it! It is all luck. You really think you are walking by big steelhead all day but they only bite on an Okies?

Fish whatever the conditions call for......

Luck???????

Late 60's and thur the 70's...........Okies, Sami Special were what was used, in my fishing group, no bait with them.......The Sammi was a "fishing catching", lure....... Rags took the place of the Sammi and Steelie Bob

Fenton Fly's are still one of my favorite. It caught fish 20 years ago and still catches them today.

Listen to steeliedrew, lil Okies have NEVER caught any big fish, neither have small spinners. I can attest to this because all the big fish I have caught and seen caught were all on varying size gear.

I still have Fenton Flys from the 70's, they work real good.
Used to use them all the time on the Toutle for summer runs.

Oh my GOD
You guys were not kidding with the whole E-bay okie auction!
People are really paying those kinds of prices for some old Okies?
Someone has way to much money in their pocket.

Get ready bidders, I am going to dump a bunch of them on E-bay to suplement my retirement!

they have to be original okies, not the knock offs, and only certian colors are selling hot right now... main reason why im not sure if i should snatch these chrome ones up, as there are ZERO chrome ones on there...

this all stems from herzog preaching about them on nw wild country. I'm sure they catch fish just fine but so can a piece of yarn if presented by someone who can read water. It's bad enough losing a few $3.00 spoons in a day but losing a $15.00 okie would just kill me.

it has nothing to do with them catching fish or not, its a vintage lure and has collectors value... kind of like a vintage Hardy Perfect, yeah its a great reel, but its collector value exceeds is usefull value...

im getting 438 shipped to me in a couple days... should get double that from the girlfriend as well... the ones im getting were given to the dude by Luhr Jensen himself in a huge box... i may even be buying up all the Birdy Drifters as well, not sure on that tho...
