Anyone checked em out yet? I need a new system for spey flies, streamers, and such. I like the slotted foam setup and have used the C&F Designs boxes for years for nymphs and dries, but their largest version is still a bit small for bigger leeches, etc. Came across these boxes a few days back and am thinking of picking up a handful. http://flyboxevolution.com/flybox/streamers.php#/img/streamer/streamer_nobg.png

The only thing I've really found that I like is a plano box for spey flies. I know that sounds crazy - but I really only use about 5 different flies.... ok maybe 8. I just put them in the container slots. I've also been using a lot of tube patters that fit nicely in the plano containers as well. Something like this but without the smaller compartments. http://www.marinegeneral.com/images/productimages/plano-3449-87.jpg

I have tried that type of storage as well, in addition to the non-waterproof issue, the material on each fly get compressed and contorted after a while when you have quite a few stacked on top of each other.

Hmm, I haven't come across that one. I will give it a look. Ordered 3 of the UPG's, one "Flats" and two "Streamer."

Coley, Those boxes look really nice. I'll have to check them out next time I'm at the flyshop. I saw this on another board and thought it was a pretty good idea for making a inexpensive waterproof box. http://www.stripersonline.com/t/798081/diy-water-proof-fly-box-on-the-cheepI made one last weekend out of a non-waterproof box for some bass bugs I had. The box didn't have any dividers so no need for the dremel. No thing of beauty, but quick, easy and functional. Total cost around $5.00.

You got some good bass water over there in Quilbilly country KK. When a big old bucketmouth inhales you topwater, it is time to celebrate by downing another Buck beer. OK, I'll admit it. I do enjoy fishing for Bass a few times each year.

Waterproof is a key element for me. I often carry quite a few boxes at a time in various locations and I am too lazy to make sure they all stay dry. I still like the large (Tarpon I think) sized C and F for big intruders and leeches. I carry my big saltwater stuff in them, and they handle 4-6'' patterns nicely, right now it has dozens of Herring patterns (Psychadelic Herring) and a bunch of other large Saltwater problem. for ounce your estranged grandpa KK has it right CnF are the shizzle as far as boxes are concerned!
