Fished the P A Derby this weekend and made the mistake of putting Saturdays fillets in our coolers in the back of the trucks when we went out Sunday.
Been fishing that for ten years and never an issue but I guess there are now offically "[Bleeeeep!] Pirates" everwhere.
You know the answer by now - returned to empty coolers.
Just saying!!!

Simple solution.
Mix some rat poison in a few select and marked packages.
That would weed out this genetic strain of thieving trash. OR....just place a couple cans of Spanish Tuna in your cooler and NOTHING will take your fish...NOTHING....Frickin dirt bags!

There may be so good news to come from this as I have been contacted by Clallam County Sheriff!! Will keep you posted.
Oh yes and we had a big money fish get off on Saturday too! It was a series of firsts for this derby!
Fished 10 years and been in the money 6 times - twice with two fish from our boat!
Congratulations to Jeff on his 112! Not quite as big as his 154 winner from 2004 but P A POWER!
Can you say home field advantage?

So it's official - some of Clallam County's best have our fillets in their evidence freezer! A little paper work and there should be a re-uniting.

Officer Mike Backas needs a little more help from the fishing public on this issue. He has several other items recovered from the dirt bag that he needs someone to identify. So if you lost items on Sunday in the Boat Haven area or? in PA you should contact the Clallam County Sheriff and let them know what it was. Maybe we can get enough to bag the dirt bag.
Recovered items are pretty much what you'd expect to see taken from a fishing/boating community. There was also Olive Green cooler (minus it's lid) with a 373rd Battalion written on it. So if you know something or are missing stuff give them a call.
