Just wanted to introduce myself. I recently moved to the Seattle area from Vancouver WA. I just graduated college and got a job here so thats how I ended up in Seattle. Most of my free time I will be found fishing. I will be tuna fishing tomorrow out of Westport. Anyways, I was an Ifish member down there and met a lot of good fishing buddies on that site so hopefully can do the same here. I have a 19' NorthRiver jetboat and dont know too much about fishing up here. I have fished the Wynoochee once this winter with my girlfriends dad and thats about it for my experience fishing north of Portland. If anybody is willing to show the ropes or wants a new fishing buddy, contact me and hopefully we can meet up and catch some fish. Looking forward to getting to know you guys!
Nick

oh yeah, not sure if this is the correct forum for a post like this so please remove if not. Thanks

Welcome. Bring a thicker skin than you needed at I-fish and you'll be right at home.

hope you can handle insults. cause unlike the more feminine site you are experienced with, here no one is concerned about your feelings.

welcome.

He has a Hyde we fished out of that day. My first driftboat trip so that was fun. Definitely a work out. And thick skin is standard Marine Corps issue

so we made it out on saturday, kind of bumpy in the morning but laid down late morning. Headed southwest from westport. started trolling a little early while still in green water and caught a native chinook (released) before all the rods were even out. kept getting short strikes on xraps, assuming more salmon so picked up and moved farther west. Finally found nice blue water at 62.5 degrees so gear went back out and strarted hitting fish on the troll. toss iron and live bait after each fish picked up on the troll and started trolling again after they went deep again. we ended up with ten fish which was pretty good considering the slow morning we had. we had to travel pretty far to find those fish, guys that found them early in the day did considerably better. hope to do it again this weekend.
