Anyone going after grouse on the 1st? The question is asked however; is it worth the gas now?

Tradition for me and the boys. We are going to our usual spot. Probably drive over the night before, get some rest, and head out into the woods, then boogie our way back to a barn dance that night.

i'm going to try. need to scout out a few areas, as i haven't done much grouse hunting on the wet side. good luck!

Some rain would do western washington good before the opener. I might try the usual spots opening day Capitol or Minot area. Whats your Favorite GMU(s)?

East of the mountains is all I'm telling.

I'll miss the opener for sure but I be out one or two evenings after. I love late evening hunts for grouse. Sometimes pick up a rabbit too.

Finally got out on Friday evening. Got two nice ruff's. Dogs did a nice job and so did the chef. Had some blue mountain surf and turf. Brined the grouse and fried them. Caught a few small mouth and fried them as well. Good stuff!!!!!!
