Thanks to steve Van rensom for the following update 6/10/99

I recently recieved word that Sen. Patty Murray and (Rep.) Dunshee said that there is funding available for the hatchery but they feel that no one out side of Snohomish County fishes that river ststem.They said if they could get 20-30 calls from anglers in Whatcom,Skagit,Island and King counties to call them and show support they feel could get the funding.

I called the Seattle office and the women that answered the phone said that she has recieved many calls. This phone must ring of the hook in the next two weeks if we are going to get this handled. Sen. Murray states the money is there now. I called Teds sports center in Lynnwood and Outdoor Emporium to spread the word.

I just called and got some staffer who sounded pretty flustered to take another call about this and told me the senator had sent a letter to the WDFW expressing her support for the hatchery.

I told her my understanding was that Murray believed only those in Snohomish County fished that system and that I live in King county along with probably thousands of other fishermen who count on the hatchery. That's when she got a little huffy and said there must have been some misunderstanding...
