Curious if anyone has tried attaching a hoochie on spoons for river Coho. If so, any increase in takes? Have hoochies on spinners and have had better luck with them on vs off. Curious what color combos would be best. Silver w/_______, 1/2 & 1/2 w/_______, Brass w/_______. Don't want to steal any secrets, but hoping to narrow down options to try with the Coho runs winding down. Thanks.

Just make sure they're the wee bitty ones, else they kill the action of the spoon. Pitchin' hoochie Wagglers (ala RVFSHR) was popularized by the board's own T-Bird a number of years back. Yeah, it works....

Spoochies work great, I use the smallest skirts you can source and find they dont negatively affect the action of the spoon. Coho and Steelheads Dig 'em.

IMO, for coho, hoochie spinners > spinners > either spoons or hoochie spoons. That said, there are plenty of people on this board with far more coho experience than I'll have on my dying day. (Isn't double stacking assumed at this point? )

If'n a small hoochie works good, a big one will work better. ; P
Truth = all a hoochie will do is decrease the sink and deaden the flutter... it will add nothing significant to the bite-ability of the spoon. If you want to fish spoons, fish spoons - they work, once you figure out the presentation.

The only reason I bring this up is my success fishing for Kings in Puget Sound using Kingfisher Spoons. 2-1 catch improvement with hoochies attached. Custom thumb and finger bends help also. I thought it would be the " Hoochie Tenticle Action/Flutter" that increased strikes. Same with spinners? Thanks for the info.

Hootchies are inherrently cheap, but if something works and everybody starts using it the price goes up.
