The derby is this week end, not fishing it. Just wondering if anyone has been catching? I fished Kingston for the opener and picked up Kings a couple weeks ago, Planning on putting my boat in Des Moines after the W/E fiasco. I have been recouping from back surgery for 2 months and need to get my Salmon FIX................I will drive down and check out the derby results and let you know...................

FF,
I fished the derby Saturday, when I came in to weigh my fish in at 10:30am I was in 4th place. But by time it was all said and done, a bunch of 18#-19# took the top money spots and bounced me down to somewhere in the top 25. Only the top 50 fish weighed had there choice of prizes, while the rest were thrown into a raffle. I don't know exactly how many fish were weighed, but I'm sure that info can be found on the SKC Chapter of PSA. By the way they did a great job of getting everybody sorted out, and all the kids entered into the derby got prizes. In fact the largest fish weighed by a kid was 20+ also!!! Here's a pick of my dink.

While I feel the pain for our brothers from up North, I'm pretty sure the MA 10 closure will soon be reflected in an increase in MA 11 hook ups.

Fished 3tree Sunday very rough and no fish, Monday fished 3tree for a few hours (nothing)and went to Beals due to tidal influx of debri and it was a dead zone. My Scotty high Speed malfunctioned(the up/down control was stuck on up) so called Tom Polluck at Sportco(he is retiring and moving near Mardons) and dropped it off and purchased the newer High Speed that comes with braided 250# line.
I will try fishing the deep water where I mark lots of bait and fish. I have tried 180' down with 15# ball but the wire on DR causes to much drag.
Now I can go deeper.....Stayed home today and hung with wife but tomorrow I will try again/////
