That place has been infested with white punk kids that are total losers. I haven't been there in years The Ave could use a clean up. It used to be fun, even with a few nice hippie drug dealers around the head shops making me offers on my way home from classes. It's become filthy beyond belief and dangerous at times, I'm told. That ain't right. Classic comments right there.

No, all of Seattle is like that... They ran the same sting on 3rd ave 8-12 months ago... they just hopped on the #43 to the U-district... capitol hill is next...

No, I don't think that's what he's saying, but maybe he'll tell us directly. I lived on the N end of the Ave in 69/70. It was cool and had a very inviting vibe. The sidewalks were clean enough to sit on, but I almost never saw anyone doing so. And it was safe enough that I never thought twice about hiking it end to end or going to or from campus any time of day or evening. Heck, there was even a small Nordstrom's store on the SW corner of the Ave then. Can't get safer or more uptown than that. I shopped at the UW bookstore there, and Pay N Save, and got burgers at Herfy's between the Ave and Brooklyn. It was a good college life then.
