Another good weekend for salmon escapement, but not too sure some the eggs already deposited will make it through unscathed.

With events like this happening almost yearly, it makes ya wonder how any fish are left. Great example why Ma Nature spreads wild run timings over a long period of time to counter-act hits like this.

Tonight, tomorrow night...both look like that, and not much better Saturday and Sunday, either. My Monday/Tuesday fishing trip is not looking so good right now, might be more like Friday/Saturday in a week!

All the local rivers have been dropping like a rock the past 24 hours, but steady rain all day here in Grays Harbor has slowed their descent significantly in the past couple hours.

My downspouts are all getting a pretty good purging tonight!

With another storm system expected by Monday, I expect a bunch of them to roller-coaster up and down a couple more times before settling into a nice steady drop mid week.

It seems to always crest at night on these Big ones and I never get to see it.

My dock hasn't been in the water for many years, it's been up high in the yard. Well, it's afloat again, I tied it to a tree at least 5 years ago so it's just floating around out there now.

I officially live on a island now, but I don't see any palm trees, must have picked the wrong island.


The road is now covered between me and the Highway 2, so I'm riding this one out.

I had to rescue the dock, after an hour or two the rope broke, but it floated next to the beach and I snagged it.

Looks like class IV rapids in the front yard right now, there's a huge wave building on the big maples trees.

Looks like it crested at Goldbar, in a couple of hours it should start going down here.

Holey Smoke Jody, in the ten years I have lived near the Sky, this is the biggest water I have ever seen for this river. If you need groceries, let me know I will row supplies to you in my pontoon boat. This is a serious offer my good friend.

Twitch, I hope you are not considering leaving a steady and worthwhile job to become a freelance writer and photographer. After having spent 45 years in the biz, I can't recommend it in today's World. It use to be fun and even profitable. but now days it is better to have it as a hobby.

Even in the good old days, a definition of a freelance photographer was to have two Nikons and a working wife. I am not sure how I and my wife raised three kids on my single income, but I am sure proud of my wife's volunteering efforts that would not have happened if she had a salary in stead of being a stay at home Mom.
