The Republicans were in charge od the Justice Dept. in 2001, when the ELF was charged.
Terrorists should be arrested and charged no matter which party is in charge of the DOJ. Do your wiki search again and look up Operation Backfire. One of those ELF asshats was arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced in '09. And the Hammonds were charged, tried and convicted of the same crime, domestic terrorism.

The Hammonds were convicted under a different law. The eco-terrorists that you think are actually environmentalists were convicted under the Patriot Act.
That Patriot Act was extended by Obama last June, btw. If there are any more ELF acts of domestic terrorism and they're caught, the Obama DOJ will hopefully get them too. The Hammonds have been imprisoned under the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996, an ostentatiously get-tough bill – passed after the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building – favored by congressional Republicans. And now it's catching the Republican fuckadoodle base. And you can't see the irony here?

It passed 91-8 in the Senate and by an overwhelming majority in the House and then signed into law by Billy Jeff blahblahblah.
If you know eastern Oregon at all, you know it votes Republican. The "base" there wanted the dumfuk rednecks gone, so there's no irony and no hurt feelings there. I do know Eastern Oregon, and in Burns there was a lot of support for the Hammonds, even though they are convicted terrorists. So you were wrong Hank, the Hammonds are convicted terrorists.

By all accounts they're loved by their neighbors who say the Hammonds would go out of their way to help anyone who needed help. I know their conviction technically makes them terrorists, but even you said they're not. I never referred to them as dumfuk rednecks; I reserved that term for the Bundy Bunch. Do you have it straight now? Or are you going to try to twist what I say again?
