90 miles one way? Yabetcha! One of the best digs ever. First time we have ever gone to Long Beach. Shows everywhere.

Mrs. fp dug both our limits in less 20 minutes. Very good Clams.

Yeah, when I first moved here (1978) you could go whenever you liked. Limit was 1st 15, but comm. licenses were available. I know of comm. crabbers that would buy a comm. license and harvest clams for bait. There are more people now, but # of digs and amounts of clams have been good for us until this shutdown. Mocrocks soon, hopefully. Bob R

I remember certain things from the 60's and 70's but wanted to "check my memory", so did a search....

People might find the history of clams digging interesting......

http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/commercial/razorclams/history.html

I learned that the #1 bait for commercial crabbing is razor clams...

Here is another.......

Saturday looks pretty good, but probably not the best day to dig right in the surf. Maybe I can talk a kid or two into a little shared misery (which sometimes makes for fun, oddly enough).

Good news is that "Rain" isn't expected to exceed an inch.

Update on the weather in Copalis Beach. Blowing a steady 35-40, with heavy rains. Big surf that will pack those clams down pretty good. A lot more People than I would have guessed. Good luck!

Got more second hand reports with hard won limits for select diggers.

IT WASN'T EASY.

Talked to some clam diggers today and they said they really had to work on getting their limits on Friday.
