7N6 has a steel rod penetrator core which was intended to defeat body armor.

But who knows what his weapons were.
If it was the above, they would want to keep it quiet because there is still some 7N6 ammo around.

I ain't your son Pops. It is Russian and the same basic AK rifle platform. They work fine once broken in and the S-12 is not cheap to break in.
