I guess since they're so dangerous to eat we should call the health dept if we see any for sale at the store. Given that all the beaches are closed for health reasons there's no way any could be sold to the public-right???
WDFW cancels 5 days of razor clam digging; Nov. 17 opening depends on further testing OLYMPIA – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has canceled five days (Nov. 12-16) from a razor clam dig that was tentatively planned at Twin Harbors and Long Beach, due to elevated marine toxin levels.

Made it out with fish4brains and eyeFISH for a lantern dig. We gottem in about a hour. Wasn't an easy time and got done right when the rain started. Dinner tomorrow.
Progressively deteriorating performance commensurate with the progressively deteriorating weather.
Two limits for three diggers over two hours of SOLID pounding in extremely wet conditions and surging surf. Lots of empty passes down to the surfline with each draw. Strong finish with a half dozen jumbos last two draws. Didn't get home til after midnight.

I've never seen the beaches as less crowded this weekend. Night digs and chitty weather I suppose.

I went down for the Thursday 11/17 dig. Tide was 8:30 ish PM. I left Monroe around 2:00 PM thinking on having dinner somewhere and getting to the beach way early....not. 5 1/2 hour drive due to traffic. Should have been about 3-1/4 hours. All the time I was thinking about the forecasted 10 foot seas. I finally get there and the seas are almost baby butt and the clams were showing everywhere....biguns' too. Leaving early paid off!
