I know Jake gets a lot of the blame for the USC loss but he is not the main reason they lost that night. 1st by the time the Dawgs recovered and adjusted from the Victor injury USC had put 14 quick points on the board which was just enough for the victory. Also the USC corners played Ross and Pettis very physically. With Chico out they were also able to send extra folks at Browning and not worry about the sweeps, screens and crossing routes. Most teams are so afraid that Ross and Pettis will run right by them they play way off allowing Jake to just pick them apart. USC manned up and hit them at line all night. That can be easily seen on Ross's long touchdown were Adoree' Jackson whiffed. And finally you can't run the ball 8 times in the 2nd half and expect to beat anybody so I don't think the coaching staff had a real great game either. These are all things that UW needs to fix tonight if they are to win. CU is made up very similar to USC but with less talent yet more experience. Special teams is the one area where UW has a distinct advantage. Run the ball. Stop the run and kill them on special teams s/b UW's game plan tonight. 3rd down conversions will also be a key to watch especielly with a running, physical QB. UW is gonna need a huge day from Budda Baker and JoJo McIntosh. I'm hoping JoJo can do to the CU QB what he did to the Ducks RB! UW 38 CU 21 John Ross III Player of the Game w/2 receiving and 1 return TD  WOOF!!!!!

It's cool to be conference champions again. Yep, congrats to the Dawgs. Coach Peterson has done a nice job. Not a fan of the trick plays or the risky 4th down plays though. Would like to see those curtailed except in dire situations.

Agree 110%. I'm sick of all the trick plays and gadgetry going on. All the fake punts/field goals, onside kicks, statue of liberty, and the barking dog. That schit ain't gonna cut it vs Bama. Going for it on 4th and 12 on our side of the field is complete b.s....I thought Chip Kelly was calling plays for a sec.  Great job by the Dawgs. Great to be conference Champs again, indeed.

The ACC is ok this year. The Pac 12 is ok this year. Clemson eeked out a win against the #23 team. Washington ass hammered the #8 team. I don't think the Dawgs will actually jump Clemson, but they should in a right and just world. I'm putting Penn State in there only because they won their conference (the toughest conference this year) and beat OSU. One team is going to lose out and that should be OSU for not winning their conference (in a perfect world). They are still probably the 2nd best team in the country behind Bama...but too bad, so sad OSU.
As long as the Dawgs aren't #4, I don't really care if they are #2 or #3. It would be a great thing for them to get the extra game in before Bama pushes their chit in....as Dan would say.

Well. Here we go.
I think UW should be playing Clemson and Ohio State should be #4, but there is no complaining about it now...time to buckle it up.
I think our defense matches up with Alabama's offense better than any of the other playoff teams, not sure if we can score much in their defense, either.
I don't expect a Saban team to look past a team, but they know they are the best, by a mile, and the Championship is right there in their grasp...I would love to see a quick start by UW and catch them by surprise.

In their first possession, Florida showed how to beat the Sabans.
They just couldn't keep it up.
It's over the top of that run-stopping defense and then mix in run plays.
Saban right now is looking at how he is going to stop Ross (and Browning).
So maybe it will be the #2 and #3 receivers will step up ?
Saban's young QB got stymied by Florida at the start.
Maybe the Huskies pass rushers can get to him often.
Damn, those Sabans look big at every position.

Smith needs to figure out how to use the TE and get Jake throwing 10-20 yards, not 40.
It's time for the Dawgs to put on their big boy pants and see if they belong. This will be a good measuring stick for them to see where this program really stands.
Petersen and Saban - what a match up of football minds. This should be a good one.

I figured #3 or 5 so am a little surprised at staying #4.
That said I'd rather have 3 weeks to prepare for Bama than 1 week.
Coach Pete is now one year ahead of schedule. Let's win two more and make it two years ahead of schedule!
I haven't watched the replay from Friday night yet but I'm pretty sure Budda Baker didn't take a snap after his almost pick on the sideline. When your all conference (all American?) junior safety goes down and his true freshman backup earns POG, well, that sort of [Bleeeeep!] puts me in a happy place as a Dawg fan!
