This closure didn't last too long. The recent rains moved a bunch of fish into the adult holding pond at the Dungeness Hatchery. We're doing the first spawn take tomorrow morning. Will be curious to see how many fish are in the pond.

Dungeness River to re-open Nov. 15 to fishing for hatchery coho salmon

Action: The Dungeness River will re-open to salmon fishing.

Effective date: Nov. 15 through Nov. 30, 2017.

Species affected: Hatchery coho salmon.

Location: The Dungeness River downstream of the hatchery intake pipe.

Reason for action: WDFW recently closed the Dungeness to salmon fishing in an effort to meet hatchery egg take goals. Recent rains brought sufficient coho to the Dungeness Hatchery to satisfy broodstock needs.

Further Information: The Dungeness River will re-open to salmon fishing per the rules listed in the "Sport Fishing Rules" pamphlet.
