The Darkside is a good place for this question. The White House and many Alabamians have made it clear that it is more important to retain the R vote on taxes, immigration, abortion, gay marriage, etc that candidate ethics.

On the left, what would it take for you not to support the D nominee KNOWING that the alternative puts your view of taxes, immigration, abortion, gay marriage at great risk?

Is electing an ethical politician (#1 oxymoron in the Universe) more or less important than achieving a political agenda?

Most politicians are unethical so what does it matter, I don't think I would vote for Roy Moore.

The burden of proof is laid on the accuser. Submit your evidence, take a lie detector test or whatever and file charges. Prove that chit in a court of law. If not, STFU and stop ruining careers for whatever BS political reason you may have.

Innocent until proven guilty is the legal standard for crimes Nick. However, a lot of behaviors that fall under the term sexual harassment are not technically illegal. In those cases no legal charges can be brought, regardless of what proof exists. And many a sexual predator, no let's make that a sexual opportunist, is smart enough to behave badly when no third person is present. So it is a "he said, she said" situation, pretty hard to prove, but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

So far, how many careers of innocent people have been ruined? Most of these accused guys are not denying the accusations. There must be a reason.

While not a supporter of any of the men mentioned, listening to Franken talk to do it hit me that there is a unique difference between Conyers and him and Moore and Trump. The main difference appears to be that in the Franken and Conyers accusations, and for that matter most of those accused, the accusers were people who normally would be on their side. Co-workers, political allies, aides or others in which the accusation had little chance of being politically motivated. In Trumps case, and to a lesser degree Moore's, the accusers are bringing up the accusations in a political setting in which the accusations could have political motivations. While the accusations are against Moore and Trump likely are true, they probably should be viewed in light of what is happening and get a bit more vetting. Years ago I had a friend that was venturing down a path from which he still has not fully recovered. I knew his parents and tried to warn them, and was basically rebuked as being jealous and vindictive. I could never understand why they could not see I had nothing to gain by pointing out what was going on. This was one of my best friends, yet they chose to believe I would simply suddenly come after him and try to destroy him for no reason. Makes no sense. For the same reason I see no real reason for most of the accusers to come out against many of the accused; and for that reason they wield a lot more credibility to me.

Sexual harassment between adults is a crime when it when it becomes physical right - i.e. sexual assault? In the case of Fraken specifically, there is a pic of him grabbing a passed out soldier's knockers. Even if it was taken in an attempt to be humorous or whatever - that really shouldn't matter. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Listen, I'm all for bringing wrongdoers to justice and protecting victims (especially kids), but I'm just leary of doing so without having really good evidence to avoid she said / he said as MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Trying to be pragmatic about it all. I get that there are cases where that hard evidence may be lacking, but the crime / incident did actually take place. That's a tough situation. So what to do now? Look at Duke LaCrosse as a perfect example of a "victim" crying wolf and ruining lives through lies. However, if you ruin a harassment / assault victim's life through your predatory actions, then unequivocally you must pay. I don't care who you are or what letter you have next to your famous name.

Either way, doing right is doing right. Ever notice how doing right is usually free for the most part, whereas doing wrong usually carries a hefty price?
