It came to my attention that a member of this board will not get a fishing fix for a while. Turns out Obsessed ruptured his achilles tendon and will be out of commission for a while.

Now Jerry, I didn't go tell the world when you had that hemmorroid problem did I.

Didn't even do it on the river; I was bolting up the stairs, getting ready to go bug tossing for some chums when, POP. What we need is one of those cold dry spells--for about the next 6 weeks.

Always a bright side ... now you're got plenty of time to tie leaders and flies for a bit

I feel for you Obsessed. That truly is a bummer. All may not be lost. Have your doctor outfit you with a good hard cast and a very thick wool sock. Then bum a ride from a friend or the wife/gf to the river and take up the fine art of plunking. May not be your favorite cup of tea but an opportunity to wet a line and catch a fish none the less. That is unless you have friends with boats!

Obsessed, you must have heard that our Chapter is toying with the idea of setting up a handicapped fisher access at Reiter. You must want to be the first to use it! Get well soon.

Obsessed, big bummer for sure. Been there myself, about 5 years ago while playing volleyball.

But don't lose hope. Once I was comfortable with the cast, I picked up an extra large waterproof boot, covered my toes with a couple of socks, and was off to the river. Put my Dad in the driftboat and took it down the Green that day, and was fine on the oars. The only part that really sucked was when we got to a logjam and had to port the boat around. No choice but to wait for another boat behind us, and beg them for help.

I can certainly identify with your situation. Best of luck as you begin to heal, I'm sure you'll be back at it soon enough.

Sorry to have spilled the beans Jim, but I think the fishing community has the right to know that there will be 20 to 30 extra winter brats available for the rest of us. Hey Spanky, where did you come up with the handle Bryan?
