So I go down to my local licensing dealer this morning to purchase my licenses even though I may not get to fish in Puget Sound this year but in turn show my financial support for our WDFW Department. Karma points, right?

Dude tells me I have to pay the $10 fee for not reporting either my winter or summer's information. Stunned, he asked if I had reported them on-line and yes I says........and he said many folks have been telling him the same thing. My salt-of-the-earth image is ruined forever

Super. Guess I should have written down that confirmation number and carry it around until I purchased the license. Live and learn.

Any one else run into this conumdrum?

If you have your phone with you and did indeed report online,
just log in like you are reporting online again and you'll be able to view your past confirmation numbers right at the licensing counter.

Shoot me an e-mail at catch.reporting@dfw.wa.gov with your name and Wild ID and I can take a look.

Once those confirmation numbers are issued, you're in - I never seen one get "backed out". So it's good to write them down, just as a way of making sure that you get through to the end.

here's a little trick for keeping confirmation numbers. When they pop up, print them to PDF in a folder called Confirmations.

I do it for all online payments, taxes, and CRC's. It only takes a second and I always know where to find them...

Eric confirmed for me that my senility is kicking in and I didn't report my winter card, my bad and apologies.....thanks for looking into it for me Eric!

Or save it then send it to yourself and put it into an email folder. Oh, and because stuff happens to computer files I always make a paper copy.

Now you are an official crabbing outlaw Pat. I kept my CRC and wrote in my confirmation number.
