Campbell took samples of the blood directly from the pipe flow and sent them to activist and researcher Alexandra Morton, who delivered them to Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island for analysis. Morton found that the blood contained intestinal worms, as well as Piscine Reovirus, a virus that’s common in wild and farmed Atlantic salmon, and is linked to heart and skeletal muscle inflammation (HSMI) in fish. The virus isn’t known to be harmful to humans, but can kill as much as 20 percent of an infected fish population.

It's ok though, they've got a permit...

Short answer is no, we won't learn.

We will have better treatment in place, better structures, better technology. We can fix anything, engineer any solution.

When ask if we will ever learn, broaden the question to most everything humans do.

I might add, after having seen those pic of Doc's with the tumors and other internal oddities how many Pacific salmon are gutted and bled back into the water?

Ya all know that doing so is (at least was) a direct violation of the Clean Water Act as is the requirement (as applied to NI Commercials) to throw all steelhead back even if dead.

Money over doing the right thing every time...

Those with money have influence. Influence = power. Power crushes truth.

It's not just "money". Do you want to pay to have, say, Seattle's wastewater fully treated to remove all added nutrients, all added pollutants, and all added temperature? Most folks are unwilling to pay.
