In the short time I've posted here, a great deal of insight and wisdom has been displayed. The margin to the right displays there are currently close to 11,400 registered users.

We are, collectively, among those patrons and stewards who can best grasp the challenges ahead for the new Director of WDFW--and our insight and perspectives deserve being heard. The sum total of our points of view should (and I hope will) be given considerable weight when a committee charged with interviewing, then selecting, the new Director begins their search.

Let's open up the discussion. This likely will run wild, but I suggest we start with two primary focal points:

"From your point of view, what are the Top Five elements of immediate concern that will face the newly appointed Director of WDFW?"

"What would you suggest as the best strategy or means by which to effectively deal with those five challenges?"

My goal is to provide the Selection Committee with pertinent and factual information for their battery of interview questions and discussion. I have long felt that leadership is something you do with people--not to them.

We are on the verge of creating and fostering more Transparency in the dealings of the Department...and this is a major step in making that a reality. I'm hopeful the Commission will both value and appreciate our efforts. Let the interactive process begin...

1. A strong moral compass

2. A conviction in fair, equitable and open government.

3. I believe she should want to bring in some of her own senior staff. Those that she interviews. Not having to rely on the same old cronies that are embedded currently.

4. A doer, not a politician.

5. Experience in multi-cultural business negotiations.
