Does anyone know of a good taxidermist who does natural fish mounts or really good looking reproductions? Before anyone gets excited, the fish I want to mount is a hatchery fish. Why a hatchery mount? It's the largest hatchery I've ever landed, and also one of the prettier fish I've ever caught. Plus, I'm a huge fan of catch and release on natives, and would never have a nate mounted unless it was a reproduction. My fish today measured out at 36" x 21", which according to Bob's fish scale is 20.48 lbs.

Also, what do I do with the fish in the mean time? Do I put it in the fridge or freezer?

Thanks for your help!
Happy fishing-
Mark

Mark,

Congrats on a nice catch! For short term storage you can freeze your fish. Just put it in a large garbage bag and remove as much air as possible. Lay it flat in the freezer with the best side up. This is fine for a few weeks. For longer term storage there are other things you can do but they aren't really necessary if you plan to take it to a taxidermist soon.

I don't wish to break any of Bob's rules regarding commercial posts but you asked. If this is inappropriate Bob, I apologize. I am a fulltime fish taxidermist and the quality of my work is competetive with the best ANYWHERE. If you'd like more info give me a call and I'll answer any questions you have.
