Curious if anyone has had experience with an OMC trolling motor bracket loosing the cylinder in it. Mine is about 8 months old and the bracket worked fine when I parked it then 3 weeks later I took it out and the cylinder to help lift and lower the motor was completely shot! It is still under warranty if I can find a dealer to honor it. Just curious if anyone else had this problem and what the response was.
Also does anyone know what company did take over OMC and if they will honor the warranty? I don't really care about the warranty but would just like to get another cylinder. Thanks for the help.

Mine is about a year old, with no problems. The only dealer I know of is Northwest Jet Boats in Pasco (509)545-5586. The service mgr is Pat, he might be able to steer you to an answer.

Hi, I bought one from Motion Marine in Oregon. They warned me, that what happened to you, could happen. To stop this Motion Marine had put a small lock on the bracket to stop the bracket from working while trailering. Might give them a call. (503) 557-1802 ask for Mark.
