Cohoangler's been out of touch the past couple months so pardon me if this question has already been covered.
A couple weeks ago I was at the Portland Sportsman's show and I stopped at a booth where two guys were demonstrating spinner making, selling spinner componets, and informing people about fishing with spinners. I've seen them there in the past so I know they're not a fly-by-night outfit. What was different this year was a sign on the booth that said "Pen-Tac is back!". Puzzled, I asked what gives. The guys indicated they were negotiating with Jed Davis/Charley Rooks to acquire the molds and the techniques for plating spinner componets and would soon be selling them on the open market again. This was news to me. They seemed to be serious about it. They said the company wouldn't be called Pen-Tac but rather it would be called "Dynamic", which reflects the former Pen-Tac label. They weren't sure when the componets would be on the market but they indicated it would be this year.
Does any know anything about this? It seemed genuine to me but I've been known to be gullible at times, particularly when it comes to fishing tackle. If it's true, it'll be nice to know I can replace a #4 silver plated Pen-Tac blade next time I leave one on the bottom of the Kalama River......

Looking thru my stash of pen tac components I noticed 2 types of spinner blades. #1 is the "french" type marked with the size # 1st.(came size 1-5 with a 4.5 in thier too) then "Dynamic" with "pen tac seattle" at the base of the blade. The other style is a blade marked "Dingbat" which is a narrower verison which spins at a higher rpm with less drag, think this one is for summer-runs or to get deep quick in the faster water at the head of a run (size 1-3?) Glad to see some one is going to the effort to bring these components back. Though IMHO the Mor-Tac stuff is just as good.......c/22

Here's the website of the folks who told me about Pen-Tac/Dynamic componets being available in the near future. You might want to drop the owner, Bill Williamson, an e-mail asking if he has heard anything about it. I may do the same since I haven't heard anything about it since last February. Or, if you're going to be anywhere near Fisherman's Marine in Oregon City, the BC Angling Post outlet is right next door. They still carry Pen-Tac componets. http://www.bcanglingpost.com/
