Just in case "Sparkeys Law" becomes an actual regulation, I decided to practice a new Grip-N-Grin technique with this fish.

I'm pretty sure this would comply with the regulation, as I made sure to keep the tail of this fish in the water. eek

I think I'm set for this upcoming proposal, if it becomes a regulation! Bring on those nates! laugh

Not funny, Parker. I know what Sparkey had to say about "in the water" photos on an old thread was indefensible, but this type of mockery hardly seems appropriate, even if it is just a hatchery brat.

Very Funny Parker, all you need in the next one is the Gaff hook holding it.

Excellent photo Parker!

Looks like a modified musky CnR throat lock.
Good way to keep the fish from thrashing around
while you dig that pink worm or the diver and egg rig
out from deep within the fishes throat.

Laughed like a mo fo when I saw it.
Some folks take this stuff way too serious
but I think there is hope for you yet.

I liked the original version posted a few years back. I believe someone had photoshopped in an adipose fin on a hatchery steelhead, blood, hand in gills.

You mean this one, Dogfish?

This is the one where Stlhdr1 and I were showing the proper way to release a fish a while back.

Notice how Stlhdr1 has a good grip on the fish, but at the same time, is holding his breath so that he'll know when the it is proper time to put this fish back in the water.

Wasn't the Golden Rule of Thumb something on the lines ithat you don't keep a fish out of water any longer than you can hold your breath?

I like how Stlhdr1 is turning blue. wink

PS. This image has been digitally "altered" from it's original (whatever that might mean. wink )

PPS. Obviously, things have changed since this photo was taken and this would not comply with Sparkey's Law. smile

I'm thinking my next photo needs to be a beach dragging...er...I meant landing of a fish. Hey JacobF - you want to help me with this one? eek (JK...)

No one is safe or sacred on this board from The Wrath of Parker! laugh

Excellent method. Looks like your pumping the gills so that the fish can breathe better. Good thinking. I'll have to try that this march on the Hoh....

Actually the second technique you show is better. If you hold them upside down it calms them..... Way more important than keeping them in the water (as long as you are holding your breath). I notice too that your "pinch" in the first pic is only holding meat (no gills harmed)! Excellent style for a trophy pic!
good stuff.

Parker, Your self promotion is shameless and Sparkey is not even around to defend himself, good rip. Actually those photos would do nicely for how not to release a steelhead.

Remember input that matters is never taken into consideration from promoting on a BB, I hope you got your testimony letter providing compelling reasons for WSR. So you will have some photo ops in the future wink
