Are any of you out there aware of pending legislation that will create a multiple season big game permit?

HB 1211 and SB 5225 will create just that. A multiple season big game tag. The price will be $150.

It will allow you to hunt archery, rifle & muzzleloader. You are still limited to one animal. You may not harvest multiple deer or elk.

There was no one testifying against the bills. It looks like it is a done deal.

I have mixed feelings about this. I will most likely not elect for this option myself.

I sure hope that untrained rifle hunters don't pick up a bow & start flinging arrows & vice versa. They did something similar in New Mexico a number of years back & it was not good for either the animals or the hunters.

i have heard about this. not good! people are already doing enough poaching this will give them just more chances to do so. but i think that they just look at it for a chance to make more money off of the hunters.

but in other ways this could be a good thing to.

i think they should make it to where you have to turn in your tag in exchange for the other method of hunting tag

as I read this bill, It does allow a person to buy a multiple season tag for $150.00. But it is still a special drawing, like any other special permit hunt the state offers. So you just cant spend your 150, and hunt all year long. I am not sure if that is good news or bad news.
