Except for a little over 4 years living in Japan and 1 year in Vietnam, I've lived in Californistan all of my life. Everyone knows about the shakers and temblors down here, but a month without an earthquake in Japan that was measurable in magnitude and felt was rare.

During the '89 quake down here I was in a laundromat washing some sleeping bags and bedspreads. When it hit there were people shrieking and running out to the parking lot. I stayed put and watched the overhead lighting fixtures swinging like a trapeze.

Bring it.

So brave.
