You know you've never seen that happen, you're just talking out of your ass again as usual.
You won't be able to relate to this, but 6 hours is a long time, just 2 hours short of an average work day for people that work for a living.
My personal record is a half hour before I got one, usually only takes 5 or 10 minutes tops, then it tapers off a bit as you learn them up.

I really don't care if you can fish, from what you post you sound pretty average maybe a little below average, with all the time you have on your hands you should be better at it, but that's cool, don't worry about it so much, not everyone has got it.
Just have fun and leave the river cleaner than you found it.
