People don’t always identify with Marxism because they don’t always understand it or know what it is. But they do align themselves with the principles of it... and I’ve actually met quite a few.

Of course the statement you quoted suggests the current environment being divisive... because it actually is. I know you don’t live under a rock and you can see it. I don’t agree that it’s inherently divisive but interpret it the way you want.

If we had democratic socialism or increased taxes in this country I wouldn’t care as long as my childcare is covered, my grad school loans are forgiven, and I have free medical coverage. I just don’t believe that to be the best solution because I am a better manager of my finances than the government is. I also know that those things likely wouldn’t happen for me so I likely wouldn’t gain as much benefit from that system as I do with the current system.
