BillyBob,

The term cracker is believed to have originated from the deep south term "corn cracker". Ya know, like "Jimmy crack corn and I don't care......". I belive that it is also derogatory term for white boys derived from the south. I think that the southern bass fisherman used to be referred to as crackers and this is how it stuck. It is common place at present day to refer to our inexperienced fishing brethren, or as I like to call fishically challenged, as crackers. Don't ever call somebody a cracker unless:

A) You know them well (friends, jokingly)

B) You are ready for a fight, as some folks who are experienced steelheaders will not take it lightly!

I also don't care if your white, black, martian, or what have ya, if you can't fish then you are a CRACKER...or worse yet, gulp, a NEOPHYTE!
