The collection of old lures comes from steelheading for 50 yrs. now. Wow, that seems strange to say? Where has the time gone? New stuff always comes out, some really effective. I was always someone to buy bunches of tackle that worked well at the time, out of fear it would stopped being produced. Over time, you tend to move away from the tried and true, to the new things that work just as well, hence, bunches of collectables. I really like the look of the latest "Okie" and the "Mercurial Beads" are a great idea! Have caught quite a few on the recent to me "Soft Beads". I still drift fish the old stuff when able. Which, with all the closures and few rivers open, isn't very often. Tough to drift fish and compete with bobbers everywhere anyway. One specific lure I love to drift fish, in faster water, with light spinning tackle, is the old rainbow colored "Birdie Drifter". Smallest size, with just a tiny bead and bare hook. It's killer, and gets hammered. Some cool stuff out there, and it's tough to fish it all, and become good at it. Being retired I had hoped to fish my local beats, with my old school stuff, like back in the day, but they are all closed and have been for years. I really limit myself to try the new any more. Good luck!
