I like them because in my mind it almost has a drift fishing presentation. With a regular body spinner, the body and hook are the deepest running part of your presentation, but with the hoochie spinner, the inline weight runs the deepest, allowing the current to flutter your spinner somewhat erratically above it.

I’m sure you understand the concept, but it definitely seems like I lose less soft spinners than typical torpedo body spinners, and I’d guess it’s because the hook is not the lowest point of my presentation.

Confidence is a large part of it as well for me. My largest winter steelhead was caught on a Wicked Spinner. Black and Pink to be exact.
